El Hospital

One of Robledillo's most unique features can be found in a small square off Calle Barrero- a beautiful fountain flanked by buildings with lush greenery in the background and beside this, the old Franciscan Hospital which was part of a convent, the long disappeared Convento de los Ángeles.

Access is via Calle Campanario where there is a beautifully carved round-arched doorway. In the row of balconies overlooking the square we can admire the splendid sgrafitto, a decorative plasterwork technique, which dates from the 1580's with a Franciscan coat of arms, birds, winged angels and other organic motifs.
