The Tunnel

One of the highlights of Robledillo is its architectural ensemble, with a vernacular architectural style which is adapted to the local environment and meets the needs of its agricultural users. A beautiful example is the "tunnel", a long, covered walkway beside the river with a mix of wine cellars and old stables.

It starts next to an old mill and its dam, which turns the peaceful river into a small cascade, an iconic view of Robledillo de Gata. The buildings are suspended above the street, supported by a wooden structure which rests on stone pilars. The tunnel follows the river upstream to the Encimavilla spring.
